Wrenfold was a wool merchant's house in 1640 and a tumbledown farmhouse by 1990. We spent four patient years bringing it back: lime plaster, reclaimed oak, a proper range, and linen you'll want to take home. The village pub is six minutes' walk down the lane.

A range-warmed kitchen that seats ten, a sitting room with two fires, a boot room for muddy dogs, and a walled garden that catches the last of the evening sun.

Tucked up under the oak beams, with a super-king bed, a roll-top bath at the foot of it and a round window that frames the church tower.

Morning light through an old leaded window, timber-framed walls and a walk-in shower tiled in handmade Cotswold clay.

Calm and pale, with twin beds that zip into a king, it's a favourite with grandparents and friends who snore.

A little stone outbuilding across the garden, with its own terrace and a daybed for summer nights under the stars.
Two-night minimum, three at bank holidays. Weekends are marked with a dot. Book direct and we'll leave a loaf, local butter and a bottle of something cold in the fridge.
Leave the car in the yard for the week. The house guide has our favourite walks, the best farm shop for twenty miles and where to find bluebells in May.

Open fires, local ale and a very good Sunday lunch.

Bluebells in May, wild garlic in April, no one else about.

Wenlow Hill at dusk, with a flask of something warm.

A church, a post office and the best cake stall in the county.
“We've stayed in a lot of beautiful houses. Wrenfold is the first one that felt like it was ours for the week.”
